Hi! I love all of the fandoms and characters I'm requesting, so if something is longer or shorter than its counterparts, it's due to how much I had to say, not how much I love the request.

As ever and always, I would like to emphasize, please don't feel obligated to read this letter in its entirety. If you already have an idea of what you want to do from just the AO3 requests, go for it! This is all to (I hope) make it easier on you, so feel free to skip whatever you don't need.

I like all ratings for works, from General Audiences to Explicit.

I'm open to any length, from just over the minimum to sprawling epics (and under the min, including drabbles, for treats).

I like both traditional fic and non-traditional and experimental formats, including interactive fiction, Choose Your Own Adventure, epistolary, in universe documents, and multimedia. I like past and present tense. I generally prefer third person (especially consistent third person limited where POV shift only happens in scene breaks or doesn't happen at all) or a match to canon (which in some cases is going to be first or second) or a match to the standards of the form (e.g. first person for epistolary, letters, and journals; second person for CYOA and IF).

Art Likes for Wrapping Paper

I like rough sketches and clean line art both, bright and dark colors to set mood, comics, scenery, single and group character poses, the cute and the creepy (though if it's cute, for ToT, I'd also like something trick-y about it). All stages, all skill levels, all types, I always like seeing what someone else comes up with. Go as E- or G-rated as you'd like. I especially like character expressions and things that set mood (color, body language, composition, etc). I also like details in clothing, jewelry, and hairstyles and hair ribbons and fancy hair pieces where appropriate (e.g. fancy weddings including fancy clothes). I'm including some pose ideas if you want to include more than the prompted one or to treat some of the fic prompts, but please don't feel like you need to include any of them.

Some examples of horror poses or compositions I'd enjoy, especially for Devil Venerable, Dwarf Fortress, Rubyquest, or Survive! Mola Mola: fleeing from things, hiding, flinching away, having the body language of something to be flinched away from, bleeding or covered in someone else's blood, reaching out (entreating or threatening), oblivious to the thing stalking them, shadows not matching the figures casting them, smiling threateningly, an artist's rendition of any horrific moment from DF, Rubyquest, or S!MM. For anything I've requested, you can't go wrong adding ghosts and immediate character reactions.

For shipping purposes for Devil Venerable and I Work Hard (and DF and Rubyquest for non-explicit only), some non-explicit poses I especially like for ships are characters kissing (on the mouth, the temple, the top of the head, hands, the cheek, etc), holding hands, hugging, carrying each other (princess carry, fireman, piggyback, shoulder rides), and pressing their foreheads together.

For explicit poses for Devil Venerable and I Work Hard, feel free to take anything from my smut likes, but for something visual, I especially like bruises and marks, bondage, face touching or holding hands or other visual forms of intimacy and affection while fucking (and also just in general), and hair-petting or pulling.

Dwarf Fortress DNWs:

• Dwarves as direct cause of pet death. (Indirect as with kitten mines is fine.)
• Bonded pet death. (Animals that aren't bonded pets can die in DF-typical ways for DF fic so long as you aren't having dwarves directly killing cats. You don't need to make that guard dog immortal when a forgotten beast comes through.)
• On-screen graphic sex for Dwarf Fortress.
• Mundane AUs. (AUs in which fantastical elements are replaced by different fantastical elements are fine, as are things like DF In Space.)

• Pet (or anything that could be a pet) death.
• Permanent death of Lin Meng or her canon friends or coworkers. (Temporary is fine. OCs are in as much danger as you want them to be in.)
• Total focus on Zhu Yushen/their marriage. (If your story is not entirely about him and/or their marriage, you're fine. Their marriage can come up as more than just references to the impetus of the whole True Dreams thing, and I'm fine with something along the lines of canon in which their relationship is balanced by and intermixed with her work; I'm just not interested in a 100% Lin Meng/Zhu Yushen ship fic.)
• Unhappy ending for Lin Meng.

Rubyquest DNWs:

• Pet (or anything that could be a pet) death. (Anthropomorphic animals do not count; fish or aquarium creatures do not count.)
• Permanent character death of Ruby. (Everyone else is i n d a n g e r.)
• Explicit sexual content unless it's a human AU. (If human AU, feel free to keep in the body horror extras like Ruby's third eye and Red's slash smile. This DNW isn't angling for a human AU so much as angling away from explicit anthropomorphic bunny/fox sex.)

Survive! Mola Mola! DNWs:

• Pet death (though I am not counting anything in the aquarium or the ocean as a pet).
• On-screen graphic sex for S!MM!

DNW Clarifications and Explications:

Comas, covid, and unrequested real life serious illness: Weird confined to canon stuff like Without a Cure, qi deviations, or chakra exhaustion are fine. Cancer is not.

Gender-related dysphoria: Dysphoria unrelated to gender is fine. I'm good with body horror, but if someone transmigrates into an AFAB body from an AMAB one or vice versa (or something else where gender dysphoria can crop up), I don't want descriptions of their discomfort with their new chest or genitalia or signs that their gender identity is a reason this experience is distressing for them. Discomfort over things like the body being the wrong height or the arms being shorter or other things that could be the same whether male or female are fine. "This is weird, but I'm rolling with it" is fine. "I have breasts now and I'm actively distraught over it" is not a good fit for a gift for me.

Trans characters existing without any reference to them experiencing dysphoria is fine (as are references to binding, tucking, and other things that I have room to read as to do with presentation alone).

I'm fine with pregnancy experienced as body horror in mpreg, but in that case, please still avoid active distress over developing breast tissue/anything in the chest area, and please heed the pregnancy of trans men DNW.

Pregnancy of trans men: To be as clear as possible, this DNW is for pregnancy of people who were assigned female at birth but identify as men. So long as my other DNWs are followed, I'm fine with things like people changing around their own body, including their reproductive systems, with magic or by other means to try to make mpreg possible; trans women or nonbinary people getting pregnant; or transmigrators getting pregnant (whether it's because they fell into an omegaverse world, men can just get pregnant in this world, or ended up in a female body (in which in this one case, yes, you can mpreg a newly trans man, though please heed the gender-related dysphoria DNW)).

Dubcon, noncon, rapeplay. Sexual harassment or menacing: In the past, I've been fine with (and liked) a lot of dubcon, but I currently don't want any. In the case of anything that could be taken in a dub- or noncon direction, I want the consensual version only.

Memory issues related to sex: Memory issues unrelated to sex are fine.

Infidelity etc.: Poly is fine. I don't want anyone confused on the fact that it is poly, not cheating.

In general, my major concern is to avoid a) definitely cheating in any direction, b) something in which one part of the ship thinks the other part is in a closed relationship and that's what the main ship is engaging in, c) something in which one half of a closed relationship believes the other is cheating on them and we the audience are likely to also think that's what's going on and which comprises a major, ongoing part of the work as opposed to something brief and mistaken.

References to canon infidelity are fine.

Focus on unrequited love: For pining for requested ships, characters can think it is unrequited, but I would like them to be wrong. References to things as they stand at whatever point in canon are fine in canons where unrequited love comes up, but I'd rather not get a fic entirely about a character being sad that their love is a one way street and ending up alone.

Underage (under 18) sex: References to teenagers being sexually active in teenager-typical ways is fine, but I'd rather not get explicit sex scenes.

Adult/currently-a-minor relationships: Aging up so everyone is over 18 is fine. Relationships between two people roughly the same age is fine, like a 17 and 19 year old. References to minors having unrequited crushes on adults is fine. For scenarios in which two adults knew each other when one was a minor, I'd prefer not to have direct references to the possibility that anything could've happened then, even if it's to emphasize that the younger adult is an adult now.

Anal tearing or bleeding: Using things that aren't lube as lubricant going by porn logic is fine so long as there's no damage from it, e.g. semen or spit.

Women on the receiving end of anal: If women are having anal sex, I want them to be on the giving end only (so f->m pegging is fine).

Contract or 24/7 BDSM or use of the word "master": Mentioning this because I have a lot of BDSM-related or adjacent likes. It wouldn't ruin my night or fic, but I'm not super into the formalized contract thing or it being the focus of a relationship/what the relationship is primarily about, and I don't want to accidentally set any traps for my author. I'm fine with and enjoy non-formalized play, with people having fun with pain, bondage, some power dynamics (e.g. characters addressing each other by title), etc.

Painplay as a punishment or unintended and/or unwelcome sexual arousal from a punishment or torture: If someone's getting spanked, I want it to be because they want it. If someone's getting tortured, I don't want it to be sexual.

• I'm opting in to receiving fic with just Qiu Congxue and Shu Yanyan OR just Qiu Congxue and Baili Qingmiao, though I'd be delighted with fic of all three of them.

General Devil Venerable Also Wants to Know Notes

Qiu Congxue is my absolute favorite. I love her totally bizarre, out there solutions to problems that nevertheless make perfect sense coming from the sort of person who feed their body to hungry ghosts to master the ghost path. Her plans are exactly the sort you would expect from someone who decided to become a skeleton on the path to power and glory, and I love her. Yes, if you want to improve someone, you can always kill them and raise their reincarnation to be better. This protagonist seems to be having issues with putting a scum boyfriend over their own self-interest? Scoop out her brain and put in a ghost. Instant improvement! I love how pretty much no one is like, "Ah, yes, let's consult Qiu Congxue about this," but she's ready and willing to give her opinions nevertheless. Her disappointment that the FL didn't want to join hands with her to assassinate Wen Renhe and Yin Hanjiang and then delight at the thought of becoming nemeses instead was the perfect ending to her story. I really, really love her.

I am also incredibly fond of Baili Qingmiao (I'm so happy for her that she managed to shed the scum love interest and now she has a long term project to revitalize her sect!) and Shu Yanyan (finally, all her dreams came true!), as you can tell by my also requesting them.

There are three things I am very interested in receiving: Qiu Congxue gen, Qiu Congxue/Baili Qingmiao, and Qiu Congxue/Shu Yanyan. I'm okay with other ships in the background, including all the canon ones and non-canon ones.

• Something set during the period of time when Qiu Congxue, Baili Qingmiao, and Zhong Liqian are wandering together. Picking up Baili Qingmiao's new apprentice! Case fic trying to figure out a haunting! Qiu Congxue having to be talked out of killing some righteous cultivators!

Canon Promotion

Dwarf Fortress is a (free!) simulation game with a steep learning curve, but a huge pay-off in highly entertaining emergent story-telling and weird dwarven decisions. This can include anything from new mothers in the military taking their babies into battle to use as shields to tantrum-throwing dwarves (upset that their babies are now full of arrows) destroying the whole fortress and killing everyone in it by hitting the lever to your "magma solves everything" doomsday device.

Losing is fun!

I will never not love this game. When I first started playing it, it was a very different game than it is now, but it has only gotten better. I have embraced the mantra that losing is fun, discovered all the hidden fun stuff, and even managed attempts at mega projects and tried my hand at silly dwarf tricks. (Few survived the first several attempts at a magma-fall through the main dining room, but those few left were delighted at how neat it looked! ... For however long they lived after the ensuing grief stricken tantrum spiral. Apparently a magma fountain can only do so much.)

General DF Notes

Other than bonded pets, I'm up for any and everyone being in as much or as little danger as you'd like. Besides graphic descriptions of eye trauma, you can also do as much or as little damage to the characters as you'd like, whether it's in the detached tone of canon or otherwise. Go as shippy or gen as you'd like. Any level of happy ending to unhappily ever after is welcome in this fandom.

While I've nominated a number of characters and worldbuilding to give you a place to start, I would honestly be delighted with any sort of DF story and do not need you to include a requested character, just the requested fandom. I love Lin Meng so much and want her to get nice things. I'd especially enjoy Lin Meng gen or Lin Meng/Feng Liangliang (in which case feel free to break up Lin Meng and Zhu Yushen, go the poly route, and/or diverge canon). I'd also be okay with other Lin Meng ships that aren't Lin Meng/Zhu Yushen, though I'd prefer the story also have a major focus on Lin Meng, not just the person she's shipped with.

I've read what there is of the translation, but if you've read the original or used MTL, I don't mind spoilers. Just please make it clear enough to someone who hasn't read the ending what's going on if you're setting it post-canon or in late canon.

• Lin Meng's next project where she's sure she'll lose money this time!

Rubyquest is a quest game that follows the eponymous Ruby, an anthropomorphic bunny with a mean right hook and no memories of life before she wakes up in a metal coffin in an underwater facility overrun by eldritch abominations. Though the game is finished, the glory of /tg/'s run lives on.

General Rubyquest Notes

I loved all the characters, so anyone you want to include, I will be all over. Ship-wise, canon was everything I wanted for Ruby/Tom; what I would really like from fandom is Red/Ruby. If you don't ship it, that's okay! I am good with Ruby & Red gen adventures, or ensemble fic, or whatever it is that catches your interest so long as it includes both Red and Ruby as a focus.

Very optional prompts

• Something gen: What was the Glen like before everything went pear-shaped? Were Red and Ruby friends? Did the company have doctor-patient group picnics? Or maybe something post-game, in which a fourth survivor appears via hand-growth resurrection. How would Ruby et al deal with that?
• Something shippy: Pretty much anything Red/Ruby would make me clap my hands in excitement. Canon-divergent AU in which there is a Red/Ruby romance instead of/in addition to a Tom/Ruby one? Whether you want to document the Glen's (and Ruby's) slow slide into madness, to tell me about a much less successful Rubyquest run, five ways Red and Ruby die (implied non-permanent for Ruby), or something else entirely, I am here for it.
