everysecondtuesdayHi! I love all of the fandoms and characters I'm requesting, so if something is longer or shorter than its counterparts, it's due to how much I had to say, not how much I love the request.
If you've written or drawn for me before, my likes and DNWs have changed a bit (and are changing from exchange to exchange), so please make sure you're looking at the right letter or are looking at the AO3 requests.
As ever and always, I would like to emphasize, please don't feel obligated to read this letter in its entirety (or at all!). If you already have an idea of what you want to do from just the AO3 requests, go for it! This is all to (I hope) make it easier on you, and I am a big believer in optional details being optional. There being works for my faves will make me happy. Everything else is icing on delicious, delicious cake.
If I flub the letter writing and editing process and mention something in my letter that is not on AO3 and in my sign-ups or if I phrase something poorly, I'd also like to emphasize that that's on me and you're free to pretend you didn't see it (or to ask the mods if you're still concerned). My DNWs for this exchange are all listed under DNWs in my optional details on AO3. If it's something not listed under DNWs, then that's a preference, but I'm still going to read/look at and comment on your work and (if history is anything to judge) be really happy with it.

General Notes
On past gifts
I've received works in the past for several of my requested fandoms, which I loved! I just want more. If you matched me on it, I am sure I will love whatever you make me, whether it's along the lines of the gifts I've already received or something entirely new.
On other gifts
I am always open to treats and late gifts. For ToT, I'm requesting fic - tricks in all fandoms and art - tricks in most fandoms, but I'm open to art as a treat for every fandom. With the exception of Monster Loves You, I only want tricks, please, though I'm happy for a wide range, from gentle spooks to general horror to "this will haunt me."
Note Regarding Tricks
As I said before, I'm requesting all tricks this Trick or Treat, but I want you to know that I'm interpreting it very broadly. I'd be happy with something that has a supernatural element like ghosts or monsters, something a little bit spooky or spoopy, horror well leavened with fluff and/or comedy, or anything at that end of the spectrum. I'd also be happy with outright dark fic, haunting horror, or otherwise on the opposite end of the spectrum. Happy and unhappy endings are both welcome for Trick or Treat. So long as you respect my DNWs, I'm good with whatever sort of trick you want, from ding-dong-ditch to setting the (haunted) house on fire.

Text Format Likes
I like all ratings for works, from General Audiences to Explicit. I'm open to any length at or over 300 words, from flash fiction to just over the min to sprawling epics. I like both traditional fic and non-traditional and experimental formats, including interactive fiction, CYOA, epistolary, and multimedia. I prefer past or present tense. I generally prefer third person (especially consistent third person limited where POV shift only happens in scene breaks or doesn't happen at all) or a match to canon (which in some cases is going to be first or second) or a match to the standards of the form (e.g. first person for epistolary, letters, and journals; second person for CYOA and IF). (I'm open to everything! These are just preferences.)
Art Likes
I like rough sketches and clean line art both, bright and dark colors to set mood, comics, scenery, single and group character poses, the cute and the creepy (though if it's cute, for ToT, I'd also like something trick-y about it). All stages, all skill levels, all types, I always like seeing what someone else comes up with. Go as E- or G-rated as you'd like. I especially like character expressions and things that set mood (color, body language, composition, etc). I also like details in clothing, jewelry, and hairstyles and hair ribbons and fancy hair pieces where appropriate (e.g. fancy weddings including fancy clothes). I'm including some pose ideas if you want to include more than the prompted one or to treat some of the fic prompts, but please don't feel like you need to include any of them.
Some examples of trick poses or compositions I'd enjoy: running from things, hiding, flinching away, having the body language of something to be flinched away from, bleeding or covered in someone else's blood, reaching out (entreating or threatening), oblivious to the thing stalking them, shadows not matching the figures casting them, smiling threateningly.

Modao Zushi DNWs:
- Pet, rabbit, or mount (e.g. Little Apple) death.
- Death of A-Yuan or permanent death of Lan Wangji.
- On-screen dog attack.
- Breaking up canon relationships if they're already together (diverging so they're never together is fine).
- Focus on ships I've never requested in any exchange (so: gen, background ships, and anything you can find in my exchange letters are fine).
DNW Clarifications and Explications:
Graphic, descriptive eye trauma: Non-descriptive references are fine.
Comas and unrequested real life serious illness: Weird confined to canon stuff like Without a Cure, qi deviations, or chakra exhaustion are fine. Cancer is not. For The Untamed, referencing Wei Wuxian's canon three days unconscious after the battle at Nightless City is fine, as is any canon case of induced unconsciousness.
Gender-related dysphoria: Dysphoria unrelated to gender is fine. I'm good with body horror, but if someone transmigrates into an AFAB body from an AMAB one or vice versa (or something else where gender dysphoria can crop up), I don't want descriptions of their discomfort with their new chest or genitalia or signs that their gender identity is a reason this experience is distressing for them. Discomfort over things like the body being the wrong height or the arms being shorter or other things that could be the same whether male or female are fine. "This is weird, but I'm rolling with it" is fine. "I have breasts now and I'm actively distraught over it" is not a good fit for a gift for me.
Trans characters existing without any reference to them experiencing dysphoria is fine (as are references to binding, tucking, and other things that I have room to read as to do with presentation alone).
My only exception to this DNW is pregnancy experienced as body horror in mpreg, but in that case, please still avoid active distress over developing breast tissue/anything in the chest area, and please heed the pregnancy of trans men DNW.
Pregnancy of trans men: To be as clear as possible, this DNW is for pregnancy of people who were assigned female at birth but identify as men. So long as my other DNWs are followed, I'm fine with things like transmigrators getting pregnant (whether it's because they fell into an omegaverse world, a female body, or men can just get pregnant in this world), people changing their own body around with magic including their reproductive systems to try to make mpreg possible, or trans women or nonbinary people getting pregnant.
Dubcon, noncon, rapeplay. Sexual harassment or menacing: In the past, I've been fine with (and liked) a lot of dubcon, but I currently don't want any. In the case of anything that could be taken in a dub- or noncon direction, I want the consensual version only. References to characters who exist because of rape (e.g. Qin Su) are fine, but please don't dwell on how they came to exist. In the case of MDZS (and only MDZS), wrt Wei Wuxian's canon rape kink, Wei Wuxian's periodic playful protests where it's obvious he's having a great time are fine, but I do not want something like an incense burner full of fantasy noncon or a fully acted out scene as a gift.
Memory issues related to sex: Memory issues unrelated to sex are fine.
Infidelity etc.: Poly is fine. I don't want anyone confused on the fact that it is poly, not cheating. If you don't mention current canon partners, I will happily assume it's a canon divergent AU and they're single.
In general, my major concern is to avoid a) definitely cheating in any direction, b) something in which one part of the ship thinks the other part is in a closed relationship and that's what the main ship is engaging in, c) something in which one half of a closed relationship believes the other is cheating on them and we the audience are likely to also think that's what's going on and which comprises a major, ongoing part of the work as opposed to something brief and mistaken.
If a character is alive and the other character knows they're alive and they're in a committed monogamous relationship, even if everyone else thinks they're dead or the situation looks dire, I'd prefer not to get a work where the character moves on during that time; break-ups afterward due to changing circumstances and being a different person now are fine.
References to canon infidelity are fine.
Focus on unrequited love: For pining, characters can think it is unrequited, but I would like them to be wrong.
Underage (under 18) sex: References to teenagers being sexually active in teenager-typical ways is fine, but I'd rather not get explicit sex scenes.
Adult/currently-a-minor relationships: Aging up so everyone is over 18 is fine. Relationships between two people roughly the same age is fine, like a 17 and 19 year old. References to minors having unrequited crushes on adults is fine. For scenarios in which two adults knew each other when one was a minor, I'd prefer not to have direct references to the possibility that anything could've happened then, even if it's to emphasize that the younger adult is an adult now.
Contract or 24/7 BDSM or use of the word "master": Mentioning this because I have a lot of BDSM-related or adjacent likes. It wouldn't ruin my night or fic, but I'm not super into the formalized contract thing or it being the focus of a relationship/what the relationship is primarily about, and I don't want to accidentally set any traps for my author. I'm fine with and enjoy non-formalized play, with people having fun with pain, bondage, some power dynamics (e.g. characters addressing each other by title), etc.
Painplay as a punishment or unintended and/or unwelcome sexual arousal from a punishment or torture: If someone's getting spanked, I want it to be because they want it. If someone's getting tortured, I don't want it to be sexual.
