Hi! I love all of the fandoms and characters I'm requesting, so if something is longer or shorter than its counterparts, it's due to how much I had to say, not how much I love the request.

If you've written or drawn for me before, my likes and DNWs have changed a bit, so please make sure you're looking at the right letter or are looking at the AO3 requests.

As ever and always, I would like to emphasize, please don't feel obligated to read this letter in its entirety (or at all!). If you already have an idea of what you want to do from just the AO3 requests, go for it! This is all to (I hope) make it easier on you, and I am a big believer in optional details being optional. There being fic or art for my faves will make me happy. Everything else is icing on delicious, delicious cake.

If I flub the letter writing and editing process and mention something in my letter that is not on AO3 and in my sign-ups or if I phrase something poorly, I'd also like to emphasize that that's on me and you're free to pretend you didn't see it (or to ask the mods if you're still concerned). My DNWs are all listed under DNWs in my optional details on AO3. If it's something not listed under DNWs, then that's a preference, but I'm still going to read/look at and comment on your fic/art and (if history is anything to judge) be really happy with it.

General Notes

On past gifts

I've received works in the past for several of my requested fandoms, which I loved! I just want more. If you matched me on it, I am sure I will love whatever you make me, whether it's along the lines of the gifts I've already received or something entirely new.

Recursive works are fanworks based on fanworks (remixes, sequels, illustration of fic, etc.). I like all ratings for works, from General Audiences to Explicit. For fic, I'm open to any length, from drabbles and drabble series to just over the min to sprawling epics. I like both traditional fic and non-traditional and experimental formats, including interactive fiction, CYOA, epistolary, and multimedia. I prefer past or present tense. I generally prefer third person (especially consistent third person limited where POV shift only happens in scene breaks or doesn't happen at all) or a match to canon (which in some cases is going to be first or second) or a match to the standards of the form (e.g. first person for epistolary, letters, and journals; second person for CYOA and IF). (I'm open to everything! These are just preferences.)

Art Likes

I like rough sketches and clean line art both, bright and dark colors to set mood, comics, scenery, single and group character poses, the cute and the creepy. All stages, all skill levels, all types, I always like seeing what someone else comes up with. Go as E- or G-rated as you'd like. I especially like character expressions and things that set mood (color, body language, composition, etc). I'm including some pose ideas, but please don't feel like you need to include any of them.

For shipping purposes, some non-explicit poses I especially like for ships are characters kissing (on the mouth, the temple, the top of the head, hands, the cheek, etc), holding hands, hugging, carrying each other (princess carry, fireman, piggyback, shoulder rides), and pressing their foreheads together.

For explicit poses, feel free to take anything from my smut likes, but for something visual, I especially like bruises and marks, face touching, and hair-petting or pulling.

DNW Clarifications and Explications:

Dubcon, noncon, rapeplay, characters thinking sex they engaged in might have been rape, or anything implying any of this. Sexual harassment or menacing.: In the past, I’ve been fine with (and liked) a lot of dubcon, but I currently don’t want any.

Exceptions: I'm fine with Wei Wuxian's tendency to protest while also indicating in other ways he wants to keep going in the vein of canon; I don't want a full-out scene of pretend non-con or incense burner fantasies of it. Also, I’m fine with Nie Huaisang sleeping with or romancing Jin Guangyao or vice versa after the death of Nie Mingjue, with both/either hiding a knife in a smile. (Please see my infidelity DNW clarifications, too, if you want to write Nie Huaisang/Jin Guangyao.)

Regarding canonical noncon, I don’t need you to change canon events, but please don’t have it come up in the story. (Example: Qin Su can exist, but please don’t talk about how she came into existence.)

Hopelessly unhappy endings: I'd prefer a happy ending, the sense that there's a roadmap to get there eventually, or something bittersweet over something that’s a bad end for my fave.

Permanent requested character death: Impermanent requested character death is fine and baked into a few of my likes and canons. I would like all requested characters to be alive at the end of the story. Wrt canons that killed off my faves, you can set things pre-canon events, have them miraculously survive, have canon diverge, etc., and I will take it.

Comas and unrequested real life serious illness: Weird confined to canon stuff like Without a Cure, qi deviations, or chakra exhaustion are fine. Cancer is not.

Graphic, descriptive eye trauma: Non-descriptive references are fine.

Infidelity etc.: Poly is fine. (But I still don’t want MBJ/anyone other than SQH without SQH also involved, though it’s fine to have simultaneous MBJ/SQH and SQH/others or MBJ/SQH/others.) I don't want anyone confused on the fact that it is poly, not cheating. If you don’t mention current canon partners, I will happily assume it’s a canon divergent AU and they’re single. My only exception is Nie Huaisang/Jin Guangyao; if it’s this ship and you’re writing something canon-compliant, I am fine with Jin Guangyao cheating on Qin Su so long as the story doesn’t dwell on the cheating and the fact that it’s cheating is not in detailed focus. Allusions to canonical infidelity are also fine (like Mo Xuanyu and Jin Guangyao existing or the cause of Astrid’s divorce).

In general, my major concern is to avoid a) definitely cheating in any direction, b) something in which one part of the ship thinks the other part is in a closed relationship and that's what the main ship is engaging in, c) something in which one half of a closed relationship believes the other is cheating on them and we the audience are likely to also think that's what's going on and which comprises a major, ongoing part of the story as opposed to something brief and mistaken.

If a character is alive and the other character knows they're alive and they're in a committed monogamous relationship, even if everyone else thinks they're dead or the situation looks dire, I'd prefer not to get a fic where the character moves on during that time; break-ups afterward due to changing circumstances and being a different person now are fine.

Focus on unrequested ships: Other relationships can be present or referenced, whether canonical or not, but I’d prefer not to have them as a focus. Again, so long as it’s a ship with my requested character that is not covered by my DNWs (e.g. Sakura/Sasuke), consider it as requested.

Focus on unrequited love: For pining fic, characters can think it is unrequited, but I would like them to be wrong.

Romantic or sexual relationships between adults and minors or references to this. Adults being explicitly sexually attracted to people who are currently underage. Explicit underage sex: Aging up so everyone is over 18 is fine. Relationships between two people roughly the same age is fine, like a 17 and 19 year old. Minors having unrequited crushes on adults is fine. References to teenagers being sexually active in teenager-typical ways is fine, but I’d rather not get explicit sex scenes. For scenarios in which two adults knew each other when one was a minor, I'd prefer not to have direct references to the possibility that anything could've happened then, even if it's to emphasize that the younger adult is an adult now.

For an age gap ship with a character who is a minor at some point in canon (e.g. Sakura/Kakashi, Nie Huaisang/Lan Qiren, Nie Huaisang/Lan Jingyi), you can go with a) setting a fic later, b) aging up within the setting/everything stays the same, but the younger character is older than in canon, c) time travel shenanigans, d) something else I haven't thought of, but maybe you have.

Unrequested AUs or AUs in which canon universes with fantastical elements (magic, chakra, super powers, the Force) have said fantastical elements removed without anything equivalent to replace it and are turned entirely mundane: Canon divergence is fine. Anything on my likes lists, which I have currently or previously prompted, or which involves AU freeforms I have requested in other exchanges are all also fine so long as they don’t trip current DNWs.

Contract or 24/7 BDSM or use of the word "master": Mentioning this because I have a lot of BDSM-related or adjacent likes. It wouldn't ruin my night or fic, but I'm not super into the formalized contract thing or it being the focus of a relationship/what the relationship is primarily about, and I don't want to accidentally set any traps for my author. I'm fine with and enjoy non-formalized play, with people having fun with pain, bondage, some power dynamics (e.g. characters addressing each other by title), etc.

Painplay as a punishment or unintended and/or unwelcome sexual arousal from a punishment or torture: If someone's getting spanked, I want it to be because they want it. If someone's getting tortured, I don't want it to be sexual.

Anal without lubricant or stretching. Anal tearing: Using things that aren’t lube as lubricant going by porn logic is fine so long as there’s no damage from it, e.g. semen. For MXTX works, consider use of lubricant an AU I am always opted in to. I’m less concerned about showing the work and more concerned about not getting "like canon, complete with blood."

Women on the receiving end of anal: If women are having anal sex, I want them to be on the giving end only (so f->m pegging is fine).

What I like about this character:

She’s cute, funny, supportive, and a great friend. I want her to get nice things. I love that she keeps a cocktail dress in her car (because doesn’t everyone?). I love the makeover session and her sense of style. I love that she was basically two steps away from taking selfies on the mansion stairs. Her family is rich, but they’re still not Nick Young rich, and I love how in her own way, she embodies both that sense of nouveau riche and also someone who would not have been out of place showing up to all the university events for free pizza.

Shipping Dynamics:

I like the thought of Goh Peik Lin ending up with someone who likes her. I’m good with anything from one night stands to a long-lasting marriage. I just want her to be happy. She and Eleanor develop a weird thing when they meet at Nick and Rachel’s wedding? Yes, good. She’s Astrid’s rebound? Yes, good. She and Rachel have a fling when they’re college roommates? Yes, good. AU where she marries Araminta instead and canon happens v. differently? Yes, good. Goh Peik Lin drops through a portal or transmigrates into one of my other canons I’m requesting and has an epic romance with a female character there? Yes, good.

I’m really easy is what I’m saying.

Also, I’m fine with Nie Huaisang sleeping with or romancing Jin Guangyao or vice versa after the death of Nie Mingjue, with both or either hiding a knife in a smile. Characters who exist as a result of rape are fine to still exist, just please don't talk about that being why they exist. References to canon incest are fine. Wrt infidelity, for Nie Huaisang/Jin Guangyao only, I'm okay with JGY cheating on Qin Su, but I don't want a major focus on the fact that it's infidelity. Referencing JGS's canon infidelity is fine. Wrt character death, even if they had a thing, you can kill JGY. (I know I'm mentioning JGY a lot, but it's not because I'm angling for NHS/JGY, but rather that he's who came to mind when I went, "Do I have any DNW exceptions?")

Fandom Opt-ins:

• Rule 63: If you want to Rule 63 Nie Huaisang, that's fine! But in that case, please still only ship him with people who were originally male in canon. Rule 63!Nie Huaisang can be shipped with either canonically male characters who are still male or canonically male characters who have also been Rule 63ed.

I haven't watched The Untamed and have only consumed book canon, so please don't use characters who only appear in CQL or use CQL canon over book canon.

Nie Huaisang (M/M, M/M/M)

What I like about this character:

Nie Huaisang has done wrong things, and I love him. My love started with him being the friend who loved fans and pretty things and shared his porn like the best friend you could ever have and then skyrocketed when I realized he was playing down his strengths and purposefully failing because he wanted to avoid potential qi deviation by Nie saber cultivation method. And then I realized he was manipulating things for the sake of finding his brother’s murderer and that was it, favorite status sealed. I love his sneakiness, his love of art, his love of … other art, and that in a situation where he was without strong allies and no idea who to trust, he was like, "Let’s resurrect Wei Wuxian!" (I’m so sorry, Mo Xuanyu.)

Shipping Dynamics:

I want Nie Huaisang to have nice things, but I also like him being sneaky. Ships in which he's getting a nice, straightforward romance are great. Ships in which he's using it for his own goals are also great. One night stands are great, too. I'm not very interested in ships that are 100% bad for him without him getting something out of it. I don't need his ships to end well, but if they're ending horribly, I'd still like for him to have some sort of net positive.

If you include Guy, I go with the Guy writing/reading, but I don't mind anyone spelling it Gai instead. I'm not a huge fan of the end of the manga. You can feel free to ignore or include things from it at will so long as Neji doesn't die. If you just don't mention him, I will assume he is still alive and kicking around, so you don't need to directly contradict canon if you don't want to. I'm willing to do the heavy lifting in my head so long as you give me room to. When it comes to explicit fic, I have no strong preferences for who does a thing to whom.

Haruno Sakura (All F/ options)

What I like about this character:

Sakura undergoes so much growth throughout the series. She’s smart, she becomes hard-working (and sort of was before, though with her priorities in the wrong order), and is extremely determined. She gets the short end of the stick sometimes, but she doesn’t let it stop her. She leverages her perfect chakra control and her apprenticeship to master everything Tsunade throws at her and, in some cases, improves on it. I don’t love that she threw away her friendship for a boy, but I love the way she went about it, straightforward and goal-oriented from the very beginning. I love the bonds she builds and the way she never gives up. I love that she kept the red ribbon and that she cut her hair to win and that, knowing her teammates both were going to be trained by Sannin, she went to the Hokage with known commitment issues and asked to be trained, too. I love her.

Shipping Dynamics:

I like ships with characters who can admire how bad-ass, competent, and intelligent Sakura is. I enjoy friends to lovers, rivalry turned to rivalmance, and team dynamics turned romantic (though still not Sakura/Sasuke or Sakura/Naruto) (but if you want to put Sakura on a different team to start and ship her with one of those teammates, I would be here for it). Shang Qinghua is a mess, but he is trying his best. He’s so attached to this world and these characters even when he tries to pretend he’s not. He takes pride in his work, even when it’s 10k of a day of unproofed porn. He wants to make people happy, even when he’s reading their angry comments and laughing to himself. He gives up writing when he’s stuck in the world he made, but then he finds inspiration and love in his work again when he realizes he hasn’t screwed things up too badly. The passive-aggressive little song he sang himself while working! Hugging the pillow! Hiding under the table! Playing dead! He’s so cute. He throws himself off a crumbling ridge on a sword he never uses to catch his falling liege! He will be the first to tell you he’s useless and unreliable, but he’s also there in a pinch, sacrificing himself to an angry uncle for someone he thinks doesn’t even like him. I love him

Shipping Dynamics:

I like people being nice to Shang Qinghua and I like people being mean to Shang Qinghua and him liking it. Best is if they appreciate what he brings to the table despite his self-deprecation. I want him to be happy and live his best life, even if his best life is someone stepping on him (though stepping on him is not required!). Ling Wen, Yushi Huang (F/F, F/F/F)

What I like about this character:

For Ling Wen, my favorite moment was probably when Xie Lian called her for help and she told him, "I know." She is competent and practical, but she also has soft spots and affection for people. She doesn't let that affection stop her, but she does let it inform her actions. Her willingness to take a male form because she's more powerful that way is so great. I love that after so long being quietly efficient in the background, in the end, everyone realizes how much they relied upon her. I love that her punishment was getting her job back, this time with added appreciation.

For Yushi Huang, I love how genuinely kind and good she is. She does her job and helps and doesn't expect anything in return. Her worshippers are poor farmers, and she's satisfied with that. She helps Xie Lian with the water moving spiritual tool and expects nothing in return. She shows up to help when everything is falling apart and holds no grudges for the past. She was willing to sacrifice her life for her country and ascended instead. She's steady and steadfast and humble and happy with what she has. I want her to have every nice thing.
