everysecondtuesdayHi! I love all of the fandoms and ships I'm requesting, so if something is longer or shorter than its counterparts, it's due to how much I had to say, not how much I love the request. Feel free to entirely ignore the prompts--they're meant for if you're drawing a complete blank.
Also, as ever and always, I would like to emphasize, please don't feel obligated to read this letter in its entirety (or at all!). If you already have an idea of what you want to do from just the AO3 requests, go for it! This is all to (I hope) make it easier on you, and I am a big believer in optional details being optional. There being fic or art or vids for my fandoms will make me happy. Everything else is icing on delicious, delicious cake.
If I flub the letter writing and editing process and mention something in my letter that is not on AO3 and in my sign-ups or if I phrase something poorly, I'd also like to emphasize that that's on me and you're free to pretend you didn't see it (or to ask the mods if you're still concerned). My preferences for favorites in vids tend toward not including audio clips from the source or added text, but I've loved a lot of things that do that and enjoyed in general a number of others, too, so that's not a no on those things, just a "if you're really trying hard to tailor, this is about the only pattern I could discern from what I've loved best in the past and even it's not any sort of hard line or real dislike." I am easy for vids is what I'm saying. I like character studies and shippiness and action and vid AUs and just--I have not met a type of vid I haven't liked.
This is your permission to do what you want so long as it doesn't include a DNW. I'm really sorry I don't have some general vid ideas for you, but I'm really, truly excited for any possibility I could get here.
General Space Swap note for writers and artist:
I'm going to be up front with you and say that what I would probably love most for this exchange when it comes to fic/art is characters in space having space adventures. That doesn't mean you have to write or draw me that! Please don't try to force yourself to create anything you're not feeling! I would be perfectly happy with anything with my requested fandoms/characters/tags and would seriously love anything with them. But if you don't have any ideas and look at all my likes and prompts and have no opinion on which to go with, you absolutely cannot go wrong with space adventures, and I figure this is an exchange where maybe you're just as excited about space adventures as I am.

Things I like about this canon/relationship:
I love the whole Mageworlds 'verse, but I especially love Beka and Nyls. I loved them meeting and Nyls knowing it's actually Beka when they take off and how it ended in his "kidnapping." I love Beka's alter ego's reputation and how they utterly ruin Nyls's actual reputation in order to let him work intelligence/slip under the radar some more. My heart goes doki doki every time I read the part where they're on the space station and they decide to spend the night together. This is one of my favorite ships, and I love these characters together and separately.
Other notes:
General heads up that I have not read the later/much, much earlier Mageworld series novels set during the start of the first Mageworld war (the prequels to the prequel). I got through the very beginning, but a variety of things conspired to keep me from reading it all the way through. I know a number of novels have come out since then, but every time I go back, I start with a re-read and then never make it out of the original trilogy + prequel + sequel.
I don't mind spoilers (especially because I may never get to them), though I also don't anticipate it coming up considering none of these characters appear in them/they're set way before the requested characters are even alive. Just in case, though, a warning that I might not get something if you want to bring up history/lore established in them? I'm okay with that, though. Feel free to include whatever you want, basically.
Also, my interpretation of Beka and her alter ego is that she's a woman putting on a convenient disguise, but I don't mind if anyone wants to take that whole situation in a different direction. If you are also into these books and have some strong opinions and/or want to play with gender here, I'm opening up that door.

With my underage romantic or sexual relationships DNWs, I wanted to say that it's okay for any level of shippiness on a vid (especially considering that there's ... only the canon material, which makes it a lot harder to age anyone up except by what we're doing in our own heads with the knowledge the actor was 18+ the whole time) so long as there are no implications that they're having sex while Peter is underage through song choice/extra material. Essentially: so long as they don't add gay porn or have Tony locking the door to "tonight I'm fucking you" playing in the background, they're good!]
Things I like about this canon/relationship:
I adore both of these characters, but I did not ship it until recently, at which point I fell face-first into it after watching this vid.
I enjoy mentor/protege relationships in general, but I think what I like the most about this, besides the setting and characters all taken individually, is the genuine affection they have for each other. Tony maybe has some unrealistic and unreasonable expectations for a fifteen year old ("I wanted you to be better"), complete with the lack of awareness from someone who was attending MIT at that age, but it's clear that he has high hopes for Peter from the very beginning and sees him as someone who can grow into a real hero. On Peter's side, he admires Tony not just as some distant idol, but as an actual person, and he seemed devastated at disappointing him. I love that in IW, Tony is able to describe in a handful of words what the problem is, and immediately Peter is on the same page. You can really see where they've gotten comfortable with each other, and I loved watching them really mesh on the fight scenes.
Whether it's platonic or otherwise, they click really well and have a really fun dynamic.
Other notes:
I have seen all of the MCU films except the Ant Man movies. Feel free to pull in anything from any of them or to ignore them at will. If you want to mention something from something I haven't seen, that's fine. You could even pull in stuff from the comics or other Marvel properties if the fancy takes you, though I can't guarantee I'll get all your references.
Optional fic prompts:
- Adventures in space! Maybe they go on the run instead of facing Thanos down. (Keep in mind my DNWs here, but also that I'm open to unrequited feelings or to something developing over a longer period of time.) Maybe sometime after IW when everything is fixed, they need to go into space for Reasons! (The Guardians need their help? Thor has to go run an errand and wants them to tag along? Tony has the most extra of honeymoon plans and Peter is along for the ride with his new husband?) Maybe something else entirely? Spaaaaaaaaaaace.
- Do you have any AUs you've been hankering to write? I love AUs! Whether it's canon-divergent or something else entirely, I am here for it. (Full disclosure for further tailoring if you're interested: There are a few AUs I'm just really not into so much or am a lot pickier about, those being slavery, serial killer, mafia, prison, and sex worker AUs. Some AUs that I love include, in addition to canon divergence, soulmate AUs, Sentinel fusions, sci-fi, steampunk, coffee shop (especially coffee shop + powers), regency take offs, fantasy, magic, zombies, college professors, dystopias, a/b/o, Hogwarts AUs, and more. I'm not DNWing that first set of AUs if you'd really like to go there, just explaining that my favorites lie elsewhere. My very favorite would be if canon powers are either included or have an appropriate AU analogue.)
- Did someone say soulmates? It was me. It is always me. I am here saying the word soulmates over and over like something out of a horror movie. The hunger only grows. Feed me soulmates.
- Have you ever wanted to combine Infinity Wars with time loops? No? Just me, then?

So if you've checked the other sections and a number of my past letters, you'll see that normally I don't ask for major character death. I would like to emphasize that that's fine here. You can go as gruesome or as fluffy as your work yearns to be. Also, note the bonded part of bonded animal death. Pets are safe. Everyone else is on their own.
For spotlight on cancer as a DNW, I want to explain that I'm okay in this context with it being mentioned (it happens a lot in this game), but I would prefer no details and that it not have any place in the spotlight. A brief mention that we had to treat this colonist/this person was rejected from the organ farm because of a cancerous growth: fine. Descriptions in detail of anyone's decline/the effects of the disease: I'm going to have a lot of trouble with that for personal reasons.
Things I like about this canon:
This is where I both try to talk about the things I like and maybe lowkey sell people on all my fandoms, so I'm going to crib from a past letter promoting this fun game where terrible things happen.
Rimworld is like a shallower DF with better graphics, a much gentler learning curve, set in space. There are even some DF-like mods! There's a robust mod community (I love the Call of Cthulhu set), so if you get tired of running a thriving organ factory with a side in human skin cowboy hats (what do you mean that is not the average person's average game? would the Steam comments really lie to me?), there are still plenty of ways to expand the game and entertain yourself with new things.

I have not played the latest update, but I will before reveals, so don't worry if there's something super new added and you want to include it. If you want to go by an earlier build, I'm fine with that, too! And if you want to include stuff from some of the more in depth mods, I'm good with that, too. I ask only that you include a link to the mod page so I can familiarize myself with it if I don't know it already. I love both gentle, basebuilding worlds and the absolute disasters that can come of things set higher. I'm looking forward to whatever worldbuilding you want to do in whatever version of this world you want to set it in.
Because I asked for worldbuilding tags, not ships/characters, and I am hoping you already have ideas for what you wanted to do with them (seriously: all my ideas for this exchange were space adventures and a couple longstanding beloved prompts that don't work as well without characters), I don't have specific prompts for you, but here's a few thoughts about the tags I did nom and request:
Worldbuilding: Glitterworlds: I think all the bits we can glean from people's backgrounds and the items we can get are really interesting. If you start with the glitterworld colonist, they have a ton of money, a tiny pet dog, and the ambition to experience life on the Rim outside of the holos. What are these worlds like? What qualifies a world as a glitterworld? How much variation is there from world to world? What do they look like?
Worldbuilding: Organ farms: I'm open to interpreting this tag really widely. You don't have to take it to mean the organ farms that are mentioned in some colonists' backgrounds. It could also be a Rimworld colony or something else.

With my underage romantic or sexual relationships DNWs, I wanted to say that it's okay for any level of shippiness on a vid (especially considering that there's ... only the canon material, which makes it a lot harder to age anyone up except by what we're doing in our own heads with the knowledge the actor was 18+ the whole time) so long as there are no implications that they're having sex while Peter is underage through song choice/extra material. Essentially: so long as they don't add gay porn or have Tony locking the door to "tonight I'm fucking you" playing in the background, they're good!]
Things I like about this canon/relationship:
I adore both of these characters, but I did not ship it until recently, at which point I fell face-first into it after watching this vid.
I enjoy mentor/protege relationships in general, but I think what I like the most about this, besides the setting and characters all taken individually, is the genuine affection they have for each other. Tony maybe has some unrealistic and unreasonable expectations for a fifteen year old ("I wanted you to be better"), complete with the lack of awareness from someone who was attending MIT at that age, but it's clear that he has high hopes for Peter from the very beginning and sees him as someone who can grow into a real hero. On Peter's side, he admires Tony not just as some distant idol, but as an actual person, and he seemed devastated at disappointing him. I love that in IW, Tony is able to describe in a handful of words what the problem is, and immediately Peter is on the same page. You can really see where they've gotten comfortable with each other, and I loved watching them really mesh on the fight scenes.
Whether it's platonic or otherwise, they click really well and have a really fun dynamic.
Other notes:
I have seen all of the MCU films except the Ant Man movies. Feel free to pull in anything from any of them or to ignore them at will. If you want to mention something from something I haven't seen, that's fine. You could even pull in stuff from the comics or other Marvel properties if the fancy takes you, though I can't guarantee I'll get all your references.
Optional fic prompts:
- Adventures in space! Maybe they go on the run instead of facing Thanos down. (Keep in mind my DNWs here, but also that I'm open to unrequited feelings or to something developing over a longer period of time.) Maybe sometime after IW when everything is fixed, they need to go into space for Reasons! (The Guardians need their help? Thor has to go run an errand and wants them to tag along? Tony has the most extra of honeymoon plans and Peter is along for the ride with his new husband?) Maybe something else entirely? Spaaaaaaaaaaace.
- Do you have any AUs you've been hankering to write? I love AUs! Whether it's canon-divergent or something else entirely, I am here for it. (Full disclosure for further tailoring if you're interested: There are a few AUs I'm just really not into so much or am a lot pickier about, those being slavery, serial killer, mafia, prison, and sex worker AUs. Some AUs that I love include, in addition to canon divergence, soulmate AUs, Sentinel fusions, sci-fi, steampunk, coffee shop (especially coffee shop + powers), regency take offs, fantasy, magic, zombies, college professors, dystopias, a/b/o, Hogwarts AUs, and more. I'm not DNWing that first set of AUs if you'd really like to go there, just explaining that my favorites lie elsewhere. My very favorite would be if canon powers are either included or have an appropriate AU analogue.)
- Did someone say soulmates? It was me. It is always me. I am here saying the word soulmates over and over like something out of a horror movie. The hunger only grows. Feed me soulmates.
- Have you ever wanted to combine Infinity Wars with time loops? No? Just me, then?

Do Not Want: explicit eye trauma (non-descriptive is A-okay, especially for the whole organ farm thing), infidelity or the pretense thereof, non-con, rape play, spotlight on cancer, unrequested kink, bonded animal death in fic or art (vidders: you can add anything that shows up in game), vids or art with strobing effects/rapid bright flashing lights.
DNW Explications:
So if you've checked the other sections and a number of my past letters, you'll see that normally I don't ask for major character death. I would like to emphasize that that's fine here. You can go as gruesome or as fluffy as your work yearns to be. Also, note the bonded part of bonded animal death. Pets are safe. Everyone else is on their own.
For spotlight on cancer as a DNW, I want to explain that I'm okay in this context with it being mentioned (it happens a lot in this game), but I would prefer no details and that it not have any place in the spotlight. A brief mention that we had to treat this colonist/this person was rejected from the organ farm because of a cancerous growth: fine. Descriptions in detail of anyone's decline/the effects of the disease: I'm going to have a lot of trouble with that for personal reasons.
Things I like about this canon:
This is where I both try to talk about the things I like and maybe lowkey sell people on all my fandoms, so I'm going to crib from a past letter promoting this fun game where terrible things happen.
Rimworld is like a shallower DF with better graphics, a much gentler learning curve, set in space. There are even some DF-like mods! There's a robust mod community (I love the Call of Cthulhu set), so if you get tired of running a thriving organ factory with a side in human skin cowboy hats (what do you mean that is not the average person's average game? would the Steam comments really lie to me?), there are still plenty of ways to expand the game and entertain yourself with new things.

Other notes:
I have not played the latest update, but I will before reveals, so don't worry if there's something super new added and you want to include it. If you want to go by an earlier build, I'm fine with that, too! And if you want to include stuff from some of the more in depth mods, I'm good with that, too. I ask only that you include a link to the mod page so I can familiarize myself with it if I don't know it already. I love both gentle, basebuilding worlds and the absolute disasters that can come of things set higher. I'm looking forward to whatever worldbuilding you want to do in whatever version of this world you want to set it in.
Because I asked for worldbuilding tags, not ships/characters, and I am hoping you already have ideas for what you wanted to do with them (seriously: all my ideas for this exchange were space adventures and a couple longstanding beloved prompts that don't work as well without characters), I don't have specific prompts for you, but here's a few thoughts about the tags I did nom and request:
Worldbuilding: Glitterworlds: I think all the bits we can glean from people's backgrounds and the items we can get are really interesting. If you start with the glitterworld colonist, they have a ton of money, a tiny pet dog, and the ambition to experience life on the Rim outside of the holos. What are these worlds like? What qualifies a world as a glitterworld? How much variation is there from world to world? What do they look like?
Worldbuilding: Organ farms: I'm open to interpreting this tag really widely. You don't have to take it to mean the organ farms that are mentioned in some colonists' backgrounds. It could also be a Rimworld colony or something else.
Worldbuilding: Rimworlds: I love all rimworlds, so whether you want to worldbuild one from one of your own games or another entirely, I am here for it.
In closing and because this bears repeating no matter the exchange:
My number one hope for my gift is that my creator has a good time with it, so let me emphasize again that I'm just happy that there will be more stuff for one of these fandoms. Whatever you end up doing, I'm hoping it's something you enjoy about the fandom and have fun making.
