Chocolate Box letter
Hi! I love all of the fandoms and ships I'm requesting, so if something is longer or shorter than its counterparts, it's due to how much I had to say, not how much I love the request. Feel free to entirely ignore the prompts--they're meant for if you're drawing a complete blank.
Also, this letter is really long considering the minimum word count, so again, please don't feel obligated to read it all (or at all!). If you already have an idea of what you want to do from just the AO3 requests, go for it! This is all to (I hope) make it easier on you, and I am a big believer in optional details being optional. There being fic or art for my fandoms will make me happy. Everything else is icing on delicious, delicious cake.

DNW explications:
All of these are, I think, pretty straightforward. My only exception is that you can include the deaths of mutant hounds if you really want to include super mutants. All other dogs, from raider look-out dogs to innocent strays trying to stay alive by snacking on whatever is at hand, I don't want to read about dying or anything implying that there is a lot of (or any) dog death going on in post-apocalyptic America. I know you can also buy cat meat in this game, but I'd rather not read anything about that, either. All cats are precious and must be protected.
It's fine to mention any canon relationship you want, but I'd prefer no focus on them, only on Deacon/Sole Survivor.
Things I like about this canon/relationship:
Deacon is my absolute favorite companion, and it's a crying shame we cannot romance him. I love his humor, his disguises, his lies, and the way, despite everything, he really, truly genuinely cares. I loved running into him as a guard just outside Diamond City and as a trader elsewhere (his comment about "for trade things" made me laugh and wonder, "Are you even trying anymore?") and just--pretty much every time I turned around, and I love that he vouches for you even if you haul ass straight to the Railroad at level one as a complete nobody. He has no reason to have faith in the Sole Survivor, but he does. I love best a Sole Survivor who does their best to bear out that faith, as someone who gives him hope again, if not in their words, then their actions. Also, sarcasm buddies for life.
Other notes: You can use whatever name you'd prefer for the Sole Survivor, though I am also good with the default Nick/Nora. I have no preference on gender for a Sole Survivor. My Sole Survivor tends to be on the sarcastic/curious side of things, but I am good with all Sole Survivors.

Things I like about this canon/relationship:
I love the whole Mageworlds 'verse, but when I read the sequel novel, I got really hung up on Metadi's gunners having opened up a tea shop together in their retirement. Sure, it could be platonic, but I pretty much went, "They're lesbians. \o/"
Whether you want to set something during the good old bad days, when they're in the middle of a war, or something in their happily ever after as two old ladies running a tea shop and keeping a hand in other things on the side, I would be happy with literally anything about these two minor characters in a somewhat obscure sci-fi series that remain one of my favorites of all time.
Other notes:
I have not read the later/much, much earlier Mageworld series novels set during the start of the first Mageworld war. I got through the very beginning, but a variety of things conspired to keep me from reading it all the way through (starting with literally every member of my family stealing it from me and then each other right after I bought it). I know a number of novels have come out since then, but every time I go back, I start with a re-read and then never make it out of the original trilogy + prequel + sequel.

DNW Explications:
This is another fandom where I'm pretty sure people may look at my DNWs and go, "Then what do you even want?" I'm okay with unrequited Peter/Tony set when he's younger if you want to write one way Peter -> Tony or Tony-will-not-act-on-it Peter/Tony feelings going both ways set sometime during current canon. I'd prefer either future fic with everything fixed/everyone alive or AU (canon-divergent different first meetings, complete AU, whatever you'd like). I'd also be happy with aged-up-within-canon Peter, where everything is the same, but Peter is older. Basically, for anything requited and moving toward a relationship, I'd like Peter to be 18+.
I'm okay with temporary character death that's fixed. I want both Tony and Peter alive.
Usually, I'm happy to receive poly, but for this particular ship, I do not want poly. Current canon relationships can be dealt with via amicable break-up or never having happened. You can also just not mention them, and I will happily go with my preferred reading.
Things I like about this canon/relationship:
I adore both of these characters, but I did not ship it until recently, at which point I fell face-first into it after watching this vid. I enjoy mentor/mentoree relationships in general, but I think what I like the most about this, besides the setting and characters all taken individually, is the genuine affection they have for each other. Tony maybe has some unrealistic and unreasonable expectations for a fifteen year old ("I wanted you to be better"), complete with the lack of awareness from someone who was attending MIT at that age, but it's clear that he has high hopes for Peter and sees him as someone who can grow into a real hero. On Peter's side, he admires Tony not just as some distant idol, but as an actual person, and he seemed devastated at disappointing him. I love that in IW, Tony is able to describe in a handful of words what the problem is, and immediately Peter is on the same page. Whether it's platonic or otherwise, they click really well and have a really fun dynamic.
Other notes:
I have seen all of the MCU films except the Ant-Man movies. Feel free to pull in anything from any of them or to ignore them at will.

Things I like about this canon/relationship:
This is seriously one of my permanent OTPs. I love how they play off each other, the way they'll troll each other a little, but still old genuine and abiding respect and affection for each other. I love their long history and how well they know each other. The setting itself is fun (battle wizard ninja! serious moments and silly shenanigans both!), but my greatest love is for the characters.
Other notes:
I love all of the main cast if you want to bring in other characters. I go with the Guy writing/reading, but I don't mind anyone spelling it Gai instead. I've only skimmed the end of the manga. You can feel free to ignore or include things from it at will so long as Neji doesn't die. If you just don't mention him, I will assume he is still alive and kicking around, so you don't need to directly contradict canon if you don't want to. I'm willing to do the heavy lifting in my head so long as you give me room to.
Optional Prompts:

DNW explications:
I'm aware of canon, but I'd prefer anything be set a) pre-canon, b) during canon, or c) taking advantage of some means of handwaving to make Red either alive again or on his way there shortly (for instance: regrowing from his severed hand/handwaving that his system was supposedly clear). The emphasis here is on permanent requested character death, so if you want to write something set during a go at Rubyquest that ends badly for everyone, that's also fine! Canon provides mechanics for temporary character death and so do some tropes I love, like time loops.
I ship Ruby/Tom also in canon, and I am fine with poly that does not pretend at any point at infidelity (fine: everyone knows it's an open relationship; DNW: anyone thinking they're engaged in cheating), ignoring that kiss at the end of canon, or amicable break-ups. I do not want a focus in the story on any romantic relationship but Red/Ruby.
If you really want to write or draw smut, I'm fine with a human AU for that. You can even keep the horrifying extras, like Ruby's third eye or Red's slasher smile.
Things I like about this canon/relationship:
This canon was so delightfully creepy, and the settings and goings-on at the Glen really intrigued me. Also delightfully creepy was Red himself. I really liked the way he and Ruby played off of each other. So helpful, but so ominous! The backstory reveals were chilling and fantastic. I didn't start off shipping it, but the more I sat with this 'verse, the harder I fell for it.
Other notes:
I loved all the characters, so anyone you want to include, I will be all over.

Essentially, I was in Venom for the 90s and got out at the cancer retcon. I got back into it recently (right after the film came out) when I found out a) Eddie Brock reunites with his symbiote in a way that does not shy away at all from a romantic reading and b) Venom 2016 started with a soft reset that made it easy to ignore or forget the stuff I hated. Then, uh, we got to the current run, and everything I hated is I guess everything Cates loved, so we're back to me cherry-picking the parts I like from canon and ignoring the rest, which has been a pretty typical comics experience, to be honest.
What my DNWs leave you:
- Fic or art set earlier in canon. Want to go back to the nineties and write something set then? I'd love it!
- Fic or art set near the end of canon. Want to go back and do something with 2016 set after Lee? I'd love it! (No focus on Lee does not mean you can't mention him, just that I don't want the focus on him or his time as Venom.)
- Fic or art set after current canon. Want to have everything fixed without ever addressing how it happens? I'd love it! (I have not read the latest issue(s), so I don't know much about Dylan beyond some spoilers I've picked up, but you can definitely include characters or things mentioned in them that do not cross into or glance at my DNWs.)
- Fic or art that goes canon divergent or complete AU. I would still love it!
Things I like about this canon/relationship:
I love how much they love each other, how committed they are. They're a bit codependent, but there are almost no 100% healthy role model relationships in Marvel comics. I love that in the recent comics, they actually tried to raise Sleeper. I love that the symbiote wants to be worthy of Eddie, and that Eddie thinks they're better together. I just want these two to have a happily ever after.
Other notes:
While I want the focus to be on Eddie Brock/the Venom symbiote, I am fine with mentions of how important Flash was to them. I prefer they/them pronouns for the symbiote in comics canon. I will wince at it pronouns. I am on Team The Symbiote Is A Person.

I love all of the main cast if you want to bring in other characters. I go with the Guy writing/reading, but I don't mind anyone spelling it Gai instead. I've only skimmed the end of the manga. You can feel free to ignore or include things from it at will so long as Neji doesn't die. If you just don't mention him, I will assume he is still alive and kicking around, so you don't need to directly contradict canon if you don't want to. I'm willing to do the heavy lifting in my head so long as you give me room to.

I'm aware of canon, but I'd prefer anything be set a) pre-canon, b) during canon, or c) taking advantage of some means of handwaving to make Red either alive again or on his way there shortly (for instance: regrowing from his severed hand/handwaving that his system was supposedly clear). The emphasis here is on permanent requested character death, so if you want to write something set during a go at Rubyquest that ends badly for everyone, that's also fine! Canon provides mechanics for temporary character death and so do some tropes I love, like time loops.
I ship Ruby/Tom also in canon, and I am fine with poly that does not pretend at any point at infidelity (fine: everyone knows it's an open relationship; DNW: anyone thinking they're engaged in cheating), ignoring that kiss at the end of canon, or amicable break-ups. I do not want a focus in the story on any romantic relationship but Red/Ruby.
If you really want to write or draw smut, I'm fine with a human AU for that. You can even keep the horrifying extras, like Ruby's third eye or Red's slasher smile.
Things I like about this canon/relationship:
This canon was so delightfully creepy, and the settings and goings-on at the Glen really intrigued me. Also delightfully creepy was Red himself. I really liked the way he and Ruby played off of each other. So helpful, but so ominous! The backstory reveals were chilling and fantastic. I didn't start off shipping it, but the more I sat with this 'verse, the harder I fell for it.

I loved all the characters, so anyone you want to include, I will be all over.

Essentially, I was in Venom for the 90s and got out at the cancer retcon. I got back into it recently (right after the film came out) when I found out a) Eddie Brock reunites with his symbiote in a way that does not shy away at all from a romantic reading and b) Venom 2016 started with a soft reset that made it easy to ignore or forget the stuff I hated. Then, uh, we got to the current run, and everything I hated is I guess everything Cates loved, so we're back to me cherry-picking the parts I like from canon and ignoring the rest, which has been a pretty typical comics experience, to be honest.
What my DNWs leave you:
- Fic or art set earlier in canon. Want to go back to the nineties and write something set then? I'd love it!
- Fic or art set near the end of canon. Want to go back and do something with 2016 set after Lee? I'd love it! (No focus on Lee does not mean you can't mention him, just that I don't want the focus on him or his time as Venom.)
- Fic or art set after current canon. Want to have everything fixed without ever addressing how it happens? I'd love it! (I have not read the latest issue(s), so I don't know much about Dylan beyond some spoilers I've picked up, but you can definitely include characters or things mentioned in them that do not cross into or glance at my DNWs.)
- Fic or art that goes canon divergent or complete AU. I would still love it!
Things I like about this canon/relationship:
I love how much they love each other, how committed they are. They're a bit codependent, but there are almost no 100% healthy role model relationships in Marvel comics. I love that in the recent comics, they actually tried to raise Sleeper. I love that the symbiote wants to be worthy of Eddie, and that Eddie thinks they're better together. I just want these two to have a happily ever after.
Other notes:
While I want the focus to be on Eddie Brock/the Venom symbiote, I am fine with mentions of how important Flash was to them. I prefer they/them pronouns for the symbiote in comics canon. I will wince at it pronouns. I am on Team The Symbiote Is A Person.
